Winter Burn

How to protect your plants

Winter burn occurs when frozen grounds and cold temperatures make it difficult for plants to continue their natural biological functions. Since there is no moisture available in frozen ground, transpiration requirements are not met. As a result, the leaves may brown and fall off. An Anti-Desiccant helps the plants preserve moisture already existing in the plant before the ground freezes. Applying an Anti-Desiccant spray to broadleaf evergreens, such as Holly, Andromeda, and Rhododendron, can greatly reduce the winter injury and/or prevent the death of the plant.
