Pest Management
For the past 40 years, we have been managing insect problems that damage valuable trees and shrubs. Our integrated Plant Health Care emphasis continues to drive us to be more vigilant in our selection and use of insect suppression methods.
Every year, we review and adjust our methods and products to anticipate insect problems and try to prepare for "surprise" problems. We select only the best new products for insect and disease management. These new products have many important qualities - they are environmentally sensitive, and deliver good knockdown at low dose rates.
Through ongoing training of our applicators, and targeting select threshold applications (we spray only certain plants for specific high population of damaging insects), we apply less material for maximum effect. Ultimately, this means we use less product and spend less time on each property, without sacrificing quality.
Tick Suppression — Tamke's Deer Tick Treatment
We target most of their life stages in our tick treatment programs. One treatment controls the nymphal ticks before they reach adulthood. Once the ticks are in later life stages, they "Quest" on taller vegetation and are best suppressed with our spray application.
The area under shrubs is prime "Tick Territory" because of small animals (mice, moles chipmunks, squirrels and birds) that frequent the area. These animals carry the ticks, which fall off, lay eggs and then wait for the next warm-blooded host to latch onto.
Mosquito Suppression
We treat throughout the summer for adult mosquitos. Management of these disease vectors continues to be a growing concern of our customers.
